QCA Systems upgraded and standardized the Tunnel Ventilation Systems (TVS) controls and safety systems across multiple SkyTrain tunnels, including Dunsmuir, Expo, New Westminster, and Columbia. The project involved complete replacement of TVS control and safety systems, executed in staged outages during non-revenue hours to ensure uninterrupted passenger service.

Key contributions included:

• Replacement of Modicon 984 with ControlLogix safety PLCs, field I/O, and fan/damper controls
• Integration with SkyTrain SCADA and emergency response systems for enhanced monitoring, diagnostics, and incident response
• Staged testing and commissioning within tight overnight windows
• Standardized platform across six tunnel systems for future upgrades
